About this course

The Understanding Tax course is a series of lessons meant to orient new tax system users to foundational system concepts they will need to master in order to perform system actions. For experienced system users, the Understanding Tax lessons allow in-depth investigation on concepts that have been mentioned, but not thoroughly defined, in other training and system action help instructions. The Understanding Tax course is focused more on theoretical and knowledge-building than system functionality or system steps. By the end of this course, users will have a grounding in the most important and often misunderstood system terminologies and concepts, making them ready to work with how to use these concepts in tax system tasks.

    The Tax Depreciation section focuses on Understanding Tax lessons that are created by the Tax Depreciation steps in the tax systems, or most imperative in tax depreciation processing. While other sections may include concepts necessary to calculate tax depreciation, the lessons included here are a collection of topics that tax depreciation is most associated with. By the end of this section, users will have a greater understanding on cases, tax records, and other tax processing concepts that they will need in order to calculate tax depreciation in their tax system.
